Inspiring coach Ken Carter to keynote Petfood Forum 2022
Ken Carter, a former high school basketball coach best known for his powerful coaching style that inspired the film “Coach Carter,” will deliver the keynote address for Petfood Forum 2022.
Carter sent a powerful message to his undefeated, state play-off bound team when he locked them out of the gym and forced them to hit the books. The point of this message was to make the athletes stop counting on athletic potential as the only ticket out of their tough, inner-city life. Within a few years, Carter single-handedly turned around the school and athletic programs. Off the court he taught his athletes many life lessons and even, created a contract with each player’s parent to ensure they each lived up to these obligations.
Kicking off the conference portion of Petfood Forum 2022, Tuesday, May 3, Coach Carter will share strategies on creating a workplace culture centered around accountability, integrity, teamwork and leadership to succeed.
In addition to his success as a basketball coach, Carter is a business entrepreneur and an author. Carter’s book, “Yes Ma’am, No Sir: The 12 Essential Steps for Success in Life,” shares how to succeed in life when others are expecting you to fail. He is the founder and chairman of the Coach Ken Carter Foundation, a non-profit organization that develops, promotes, and provides education, training and mentoring programs for minority youths.
